  • Breakfast is light and held in the morning, lunch is mid-day and dinner is the main meal usually held around 7pm.

  • Istanbul is a famous city lots of people love to visit.

  • Hagia Sophia is famous for it’s huge dome and richly decorated interior.  It's the best example of Byzantine architecture that is still standing.

  • Topkapi Palace is a museum that was once home to Turkish Sultans.

  • The Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, in the capitol, Ankara, is a place visiters love to visit due to it's amazing collection of art.

  • The people of Turkey are called Turks.

  • Turkish Baklava is a dessert Turks are famous for.

  • Soccer is the most popular sport in Turkey.

  • Grease wrestling is a traditional sport and is sometimes considered as Turkey's national sport.

Getting Around

 

  • There are many airports in Turkey, one of the best is said to be the Istanbul Ataturk Airport.

  • There are busses and minibusses but tickets must be fbaught ahead of time.

  • Taxis and trams can also be found in most cities.

  • ​Cities such as Istanbul have underground metros.

Climate and What to Pack

  • Turkey has many climates to it. It is mostly Mediterranean climate but also has semiarid, and very little amounts of Marie West coast and humid subtropical.

  • ​Winter can be very cold in some parts of Turkey.

  • Summer is nice and pleseant but can be hot in some places.

  • Turkey borders both the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.

  • Euphrates and Tigris rivers  both originate in Turkey.

  • What you would pack would depend on the season they are experiencing when you go.

  • Rainfall also varies depending on the season/month.
